We are seeking associates (Rechtsanwälte) (m/f/d) to join our Public Law practice at our Düsseldorf office.

Our team ranks among the leading practices in Germany, and advises and represents companies, public authorities and associations in Germany and abroad across the full breadth of public law. We focus in particular on environmental and planning law, energy and regulatory law, export control, sanctions and investment control, and state subsidies and state aid. We specialise in matters where public law intersects with other practice areas, meaning we often work across offices and fields of law – for example with M&A, Compliance, and Defense & Security.

Your role

Youll focus on the following:

Reviewing FDI filing and approval requirements, coordinating the relevant reviews by local counsel around the world, and representing clients in FDI proceedings before the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE)

Advising companies on compliance with export control and sanctions law requirements in commercial transactions and within their own companies

Advising on planning and implementing infrastructure projects

Advising on the public law aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence, contract negotiations and closing preparation, particularly in export control and sanctions compliance, environmental and energy law, state subsidies and investment control

Representing clients before courts and authorities on a broad range of public business law matters, including state aid and foreign trade law

Advising on planning and permitting issues for industrial and energy generation installations and contract drafting in the field of energy law

Your profile

State examinations with grades of fully satisfactory (vollbefriedigend) or better

Ideally, relevant experience in public law

Business-fluent English, preferably acquired abroad

Additional qualifications such as an LL.M. or doctorate welcome
