We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our team as a Snowflake Solution Architect. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of data engineering and integration, with a specific focus on designing and building cloud data and AI solutions using Snowflake and the ecosystem of tools that are part of the wider solution architecture. You will play a crucial role in designing the solution architecture, enabling data ingestion and transformation pipelines, designing data models and data products, and creating user-friendly interfaces that empower users to interact with complex data through data visualization tools and natural language interfaces. This position offers a unique chance to contribute to innovative projects while also providing mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members.

In line with client requirements, the preferred location for this role is in our Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office, we are also able to consider candidates for other office locations in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Ōtautahi (Christchurch) office. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities

Snowflake solution architecture design.

Data modelling and the design and build of data pipelines to ingest and transform data.

Integration of the Snowflake platform with other ecosystem toolsets.

Designing and building scalable, robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines on Snowflake.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the team remains at the cutting edge of data engineering practices

Proven experience in:

Implementing Snowflake platforms.

Data platform solution architecture design patterns.

Data modelling using a range of methodologies.

Data engineering and building scalable, robust data pipelines.

Writing efficient SQL queries.

Integrating Snowflake with data processing frameworks.

Ideally, youll also have the skills and attributes below but dont worry if you dont tick all the boxes. Were interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

A working knowledge of Snowflake Horizon Catalog.

Proficiency with development languages such as Python, Java, and Scala.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about data challenges.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a passion for leveraging data to drive business outcomes.

Experience in technical leadership or mentorship roles, guiding junior team members towards success.
